As I build my wardrobe, there are a few things that I'm putting at the top of my shopping list. A good wardrobe is characterized by certain essentials that are well...timeless. Here are a some items that I absolutely adore...

The Louis Vuitton Speedy.

There are so many versions to this bag and I think I love and adore just about every one. You can even have this bag monogramed, painted, bejewelled, bedazzled or blinged. It's one of those bags that a girl just sorta shoudn't live without. I already own one and I put just about my whole life in it. From my gym clothes to my lip gloss and my trusty blackberry to my work files. It really does hold a lot. I use this bag just about every day because it really is versatile and goes with almost any outfit. The straps on mne have oxidized now and I love it even more with it's vintage look.  I call it my forever bag...

Tory Burch Flats


I don't really ever wear pumps except for special occasions or when I get really fancy and am feelng super girly. Tory Burch has to be one of my absolute favorite designers for flats. Her line of ballerina flast is another definite must have for your wardrobe. There are so many colors and patterns to choose from that you can find one that's perfect for just about any outfit. These flats are amazingly comfortable and high quality too. You will own them for years. No girl should go without owning a pair. I actually own this bag. It took me a long time to save for it and was nothing short of thrilled whn I actually got to own it. It's another classic "carry all" that no girl should go wthout. Owning a Gucci bag is an absolute must! m plotting on getting some flats to match very soon...

A few thoughts...

There are a few essentials to every girls wardrobe, skinny or not. A few good handbags, some nice pumps and the perfect pair of jeans! I started this blog to write about being trendy and chic while living "plus". Far too often people think that because you you do not wear a  sze six you cannot be fashion forward. One can live fashionably at any size!!!  The fashion workd is fast changing to accomodate the plus size lady with many stores such as Forever 21 bridging the gap with their plus size lines. The blog is also not solely going to be about fashion but also food, travel, photography and lifestyle.

Who says that just because you wear a size sixteen you can't take fashion risks or be fashon forward.I'm a huge fan of everything over the top, elaborate and down right gaudy in some cases. Some of my favorite designers include Marc Jacobs, Heatherette, Alice+Oliva and Betsey Johnson and while I may not be always able to fit their clothes thee accessories give my wardrobe the extra edge. Fashion is about experimenting, making mistakes and finding what works best for you.A well thought out and executed outfit should always express your personal style.
